The hubs and I (and so many others) have prayed for a bigger ministry building for over ten years. The vision to see more teenagers impacted with the love of Jesus is always on our hearts and we simply need more space to facilitate. So, in those ten years of praying and waiting, praying and waiting, praying and waiting, a girl can do a lot of dreaming about what it will look like, the lives it will touch, and what God will do!
He’s a good Father! Construction has begun… We tore down the little ministry house and a bigger center is in the works. The process seems ever so slow to us (we are eager to swing those doors open again) but in God’s economy it is right on time. (insert – daily reminder here!) So, with the walls up and trusses in place we are learning that EVERYTHING costs more than it was supposed too! We’re a nonprofit ministry, so the panic sets in often and the thoughts of will this building ever be fully funded can creep in often and uninvited. BUT I’m instantly reminded of His promises and the assurance that He didn’t bring us this far to just to bring us this far gives me great peace! No way is He leaving us with an unfinished building!
Who’s thought these?!? “This is the best it’s going to get.” “Why am I here?” “Will this last forever?” “Maybe I made a wrong move.” I’m convinced that wherever He has you, at this moment, is a stepping stone in your journey both in life and faith. We are His vessels and the story He has written for you… It’s great. Honestly, it’s beyond great! And He didn’t bring you this far just to bring you this far… Nope! No way! He has us here for a time to trust, study, and lean into Him even more but God is on the move.
What I’ve found on this construction journey (which is far from over) is that my prayer life is stronger, my reliance on Him is greater, and I talk with my spouse way more about God’s promises to us, and that’s exactly where I want to be. This building will happen, and kids will come to know Him, and this money fear will fade as He reveals His plan when its time.
Trust… Lean In… And Enjoy The Journey! He didn’t bring you this far just to bring you this far… He’s taking you well beyond here for sure.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
